WV Band Directors,
On the day of the audition, please plan to arrive at the site early enough to register and have ample warm-up time. Students will be required to sign in at the registration table again this year. Historically we have averaged close to a 30-40% cancellation rate; therefore, please plan to arrive early for your scheduled audition. This is particularly true for those scheduled for the afternoon auditions. You will be expected to try-out early if necessary.
Band Directors: when you arrive on-site, please check in at the registration table to sign in, fill out audition forms, and advise us of cancellations from your school. If you are not planning to attend, please send an adult representative. Signs will be posted to direct students to the warm-up area and audition rooms. Students should be aware of audition times and cancellations. Audition schedules will be posted throughout the audition area and cancellations will be posted as they are reported. The audition process for winds will be blind. Students are NOT to speak to the judges. Facilitators will be on hand to conduct any communication from the students to the judges. A copy of the solo must be provided for the judge!!!!!! No copies will be made at the audition sites . If possible email cancellations before January 1, 2014.

NOTE TO PERCUSSIONISTS: No tuning devices, other than a pitch pipe, will be permitted when auditioning on timpani. Remember, you must provide all mallets and sticks. Feel free to bring your own tambourine, crash cymbals and triangle, if you prefer. Snare drum, marimba and timpani will be provided.
